The Nu Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi was chartered on June 5th, 1925, the 13th chapter of KKPsi nationally. Working at The University of Michigan, Nu was sponsored by legendary director William D. Revelli for approximately 30 years, prospering under his leadership through committed service. Its sister chapter, the Lambda Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, was founded on May 18, 1948. For more than 90 years, the chapter’s mission has been to support the bands program at Michigan through ventures ranging from uniform handout for the marching band to social events for the campus and university bands. Along with service to the bands, the chapter fosters leadership through its love of music.

Nu boasts a wide ranging alumni base, from past National President Malinda Matney, to former National Vice President for Colonization and Membership and current National President, Marco Krcatovich II, and current National Vice President for Professional Relations, Dr. Douglas Stotter. One of the most nationally recognized and awarded chapters of Kappa Kappa Psi, Nu stands as a model organization, earning more than a hundred awards in its long and rich history.

On campus, Nu can be credited with the emergence of many Michigan traditions, including the early formation of the Maize Rage, the student section of Michigan Basketball. Nu is built on a legacy of excellence and service to the organizations we love most dearly, a foundation which will lead Nu into a bright and worthy future.
